Community Service
Did you know that children who do not read on level by the end of Grade 3 have only a one-in-eight chance of ever catching up and are four times less likely to graduate from high school?
Want to help change that, and give local kids a better start in life? Give them books!
As communicators, we depend upon a literate society to process and act upon the messages we send, and the foundations of literacy (and great communications skills) begin in childhood. That’s why we’re hosting our 3rd annual Book Drive for Kids for Queen City Book Bank at PRSA’s annual Media Day event on June 17.

Navigating the Current DEI Landscape as Communicators
Cincinnati PRSA recently met at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for a hands-on workshop to share with communicators the latest tools, tips and tricks to help boost their social media strategy.
The event was a blend of knowledge-sharing and collaborative problem-solving, led by industry experts Drew Boehmker, Scooter Media; Jessica Lewis, Cincinnati Children’s; Lexi McCoy, Pomme Communications. After learning from the speakers, attendees broke into smaller groups to tackle real-world challenges.
Visit the blog for five key takeaways from the workshop.
Ethics Moment
PRSA Cincinnati’s marquee learning and networking event of the year, Media Day 2025, is right around the corner on June 17. The theme, “PR Pivots,” inspired me to share a few notes on how our PRSA Code of Ethics intersects with how our industry is evolving as we continue our commitment serving our many publics with honesty, fairness, transparency and accountability.
As pros we depend heavily on our contacts in the media, influencers, and new technologies that help us interact directly with our publics. In our daily work, this means that members of PRSA need to be mindful of our commitment to the PRSA Code of Ethics Provision of Conduct on Free Flow of Information.
The Core Principle: Protecting and advancing the free flow of accurate and truthful information is essential to serving the public interest and contributing to informed decision making in a democratic society.
Read more on the blog from Ethics Director, Holly Ingram, APR about the guidelines that PRSA offers to members to maintain integrity of relationships and aid the free flow of information.
