Blacksmith Entry Criteria Rubrics
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Entry Length: The primary element to the entry is the summary. For Campaign Categories, summaries may be UP TO two 8.5 x 11 pages. For all other categories, the summary may be UP TO one 8.5 x 11 page. The focus of the summary should be on the information being presented as opposed to the length. That is, you do not need to completely fill the space allowed if you are able to express all the information that needs to be shared.
Focus on the substance of the details. For Campaign categories, the summary should cover the following criteria: Insights, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. Tactics cover similar areas as well as the creativity of the tactic. Professional and Team categories should provide evidence of traits demonstrating the best in his/her/their field, such as communication skills, public relations expertise, creativity and integrity.
Font/Margins: The required font is 10 point, Times New Roman. The pages should have one inch margins.
Supporting Documents: Unless a category requires certain items, there is not a minimum of supporting documents required. Be sure to review if your category has requirements for any. Otherwise, submit what supporting documents you feel you need to support your entry up to a maximum of 10.
The supporting documents should help show the success of the work. Examples of supporting documents could include electronic copies or links of the following:
- Budget and planning timeline spreadsheets
- News clippings
- Social media
- Photos and videos
- Screen captures
- Other collateral used (excluding props)
Website entries must include the URL (if still “live”), user IDs and passwords (if necessary). Supporting documents should be well labeled so judges can immediately identify them. The platform provides limits to the size of the uploads.
Entry Overview: This is a 50-word overview describing what the work entry is about. This information is used during the Chapter Banquet in introducing the entry.
Entry Image: This is used during the Chapter Banquet. While it would be preferred to be a photo of the entry activity, it is up to you how you wish to “show off” the entry or people.
